Texas State Trooper Kelly Helleson given paid vacation for sexually assaulting two women on camera

Video of this sexual assault has gone viral. Millions have seen it. So for now Kelly Helleson has been stripped of her ability to harass, grope, assault, kidnap, and shake down people on Texas highways. She will, however, continue to draw a paycheck for the indefinite future.

Meanwhile her fellow thug David Farrell who pulled over these women for throwing a cigarette out the window, then requested a female officer sexually assault them because he claimed to smell a plant the state doesn’t like (and he of course lied about even that) is still on the force.  He could pull over your wife or daughter right now if they’re driving through Texas.

And doesn’t it make you feel better…

The average salary for Texas State Troopers is $42,000.

4 teens among 10 shot in Chicago on December 15

Four teenage children were shot in Chicago the same day as the massacre in Connecticut. It’s understandable if you didn’t hear about it. I don’t think Barack Obama cried about it, and I don’t think it was on NBC news.

While the article doesn’t mention the race of those involved, I’m going to go out on a limb and speculate these kids were black. These types of shootings are a regular occurrence in Chicago.

But you see black children being shot and killed by other black people isn’t a story our political elite is interested in unless it’s to blame dead white people for leaving these Urban areas 40 or 50 years ago.  If you’re white and you bring it up for any other reason then you’re racist.  Plus Chicago has among the strictest gun laws in the nation so the statists see no benefit in publicizing the gun violence there.

Taliban may gain official control over Southeast Afghanistan

That’s apparently part of a peace deal being proposed by Afghan President Karzai. If this ends the war faster then so be it. I’m no defender of the Taliban, but I’m also no supporter of Karzai. And I certainly don’t favor continued US military involvement in Afghanistan.

This really goes to show how utterly pointless this war has been. We’ve been told for over a decade that the American government must install democracy in Afghanistan while also keeping the Taliban from reemerging. This is a vital national security concern we were told. Candidate Obama even criticized Republicans and Hillary Clinton for not focusing more on Afghanistan. As Obomber’s second term begins, the US continues to support a corrupt president there whose latest election was a fraud and who now wants to cede control of part of the country to the dreaded Taliban.

Marco Rubio a champion of freedom?

You often hear pundits on the right state that so called “tea party” Republicans are voices for liberty in Congress. One of the most prominent among them is Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida)

Now the guy is basically a warmonger and Israel-Firster. But even if we put that aside and analyze his views on domestic policies through the eyes of a red state, tea partying, support-the-troops Republican, the idea he stands for freedom doesn’t stand up to scrutiny.

For example a quick glance at his website illustrates his views on Health Care. He says he wants to allow individuals to control their own healthcare choices, but in the same sentence says he wants to give control to the States. Now giving smaller state governments control over “health policy” may be the lesser of two evils compared to something like Obamacare, but it’s certainly not the same as allowing individuals to control it so he sounds confused right from the start. He then says he wants to “allow” people to purchase health insurance across state lines. If the states control health care policy I’m not sure how that fits in with the Feds allowing people to purchase from outside their states. It would be up to the state the person lives in would it not?

He goes onto list a bunch of ways he wants to “incentivize” the state governments or individuals to do this or that regarding healthcare. So basically he’s still advocating taxing people who don’t do what the Feds say higher than those who do.

Finally he says he wants to develop a “sensible” plan to cover people with pre-existing conditions. So despite all the talk earlier on this same page about free market solutions, he doesn’t really believe in that at all. Giving “insurance” to people who are guaranteed to immediately start making large financial claims on the policy is not insurance at all. A private firm can’t make money that way so there is no “sensible” plan other than the government taxing healthy people or forcing them to buy insurance they may not want.

Former Eatontown, NJ Detective Philip Emanuele gets probation for sexual assault

He plead guilty to “criminal coercion” for threatening to jail a young woman if she didn’t perform sex acts on him.  I guess this is different from the “non-criminal” coercion he was involved in on a daily basis up to that point.

You have to wonder whether someone who wasn’t employed by the State would receive a plea bargain that avoided jail if they had threatened a girl with imprisonment and then raped her.

This “public servant” had an annual salary of $114,712.

US Military says it can kill Afghan children

Of course any military engaged in hostilities will slaughter lots of children. That’s pretty much a given in modern warfare. However, the US government has at least expressed regret that children are killed in their attacks. They don’t really try to avoid it, but you haven’t heard the president say “Yeah we bombed Baghdad so we could kill a bunch of kids.”

That appears to be changing.

“It kind of opens our aperture,” said Army Lt. Col. Marion “Ced” Carrington, whose unit, 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, was assisting the Afghan police. “In addition to looking for military-age males, it’s looking for children with potential hostile intent.”
