This propaganda piece by the Associated Press is a good representation of all that is wrong with coverage of this George Zimmerman story.
The Florida case has become a flashpoint in separate but converging national debates over self-defense laws, guns, and race relations.
There is no debate going on here. This is just the Democratic Party telling everyone what to think and being echoed by the media. This AP article that starts off telling us there’s a debate going on, then proceeds to talk about 100 rallies in support of Trayvon Martin, quotes Al Sharpton and Martin’s mother, and then says Eric Holder is investigating whether Zimmerman can be charged for Civil Rights violations. Where’s the debate? I guess no one disagrees with the Democrats and the race hustlers on this.
The AP also continues to misinform the public that this case was about “stand your ground laws.” Of course it wasn’t. That law was not used by Zimmerman’s defense to justify his actions. Based on the best available evidence which a jury used to acquit Zimmerman, he was attacked and defended himself. He didn’t have the option of running away or whatever they’re saying he should have done. So I guess according to Sharpton or Holder, if a black man attacks you, you better just shut up and take it. Otherwise you’re violating his civil rights. Hopefully you won’t be killed.
At least the AP isn’t calling Zimmerman a “white Hispanic” like their counterparts at the New York Times. The guy’s about as white as Barack Obama. Next time a Hispanic kills another Hispanic, are they going to as far as to call that white on Hispanic crime? Or will the NYT just chalk that up to the violent white on white epidemic plaguing this nation?
I’m not entirely sympathetic to Zimmerman. It seems to me he was probably a busy body who unnecessarily took the defense of his whole neighborhood as his responsibility. Then he got a little power rush from it and kind of went looking for trouble. But there is no evidence at all that he was racist (He’s part black for god’s sake) or that he murdered anyone. The idea that the prosecution proved beyond a reasonable doubt that he attacked and murdered Martin is just a flat out lie by anyone suggesting it.
Let me break this so called Zimmerman “debate” down for you:
Democrats: The public does not have the right to own guns or defend themselves. They should cower in their homes and pray to Obama that the cops will protect them. The only reason blacks commit crimes at higher rates than other races is because the government isn’t giving them enough money and because whites are racists. The Republicans block efforts to ban guns and help blacks because they represent rich white racists.
Republicans: No Opinion.
Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson, and other assorted race hustlers: Every time a black person is killed by someone they consider a non-black, this is evidence of white racism. The Democrats need to pass more laws to protect blacks, and anyone who disagrees is racist.
The Media: Repeat everything the Democrats and Al Sharpton have to say. Ignore all evidence that strays from their narrative.
If you’re an ordinary person, here is what you should do to contribute to this debate:
Black people: TV says you should be outraged so go out and black traffic and chant mindlessly. If a few of you cause some property damage, that’s justified because you’re doing it for social justice. Plus it will give Obama an excuse to increase the police state to settle the unrest he helped cause. Then maybe he can steal white people’s guns.
White people: Apologize to blacks for Zimmerman or else shut the fuck up.
Hispanics: You’re an oppressed minority when Democrats want your vote. But you may also be evil white racists if that suits the narrative so in this case shut up. But next time Congress votes on an immigration bill, go out and protest (i.e. block traffic) and demand “justice” for your “race”.
Asians: This doesn’t concern you, but you should quietly agree with the blacks on this.
